The Myth of Fast Growth
When I first started building my business, I thought the goal was speed. I wanted quick wins, rapid results, the kind of growth you could post about with pride. The faster, the better. At least that’s what I believed.
And for a while, I chased it. I packed my calendar, said yes to everything, and wore “busy” like a badge of honor. The numbers climbed, but behind the scenes, it was messy. I was juggling too much. I was constantly behind. I couldn’t keep up.
That’s when I realized fast growth isn’t the same as strong growth. Fast growth might feel exciting in the moment, but if it’s built on shaky foundations, it won’t last.
Sustainable growth looks different. It doesn’t come from doing everything at once. It comes from building systems that carry the weight with you. Automations that keep your business running when you can’t. Processes that ensure quality and consistency. Structures that make your business scalable without making you miserable.
It’s not glamorous. Sometimes sustainable growth looks boring. But boring is good. Boring means you can sleep at night. Boring means your business isn’t dependent on you hustling every second of the day. Boring means your family actually gets to see you — not just the overworked version of you, but the real, present you.
When I shifted my focus from fast to sustainable, everything changed. My days had more breathing room. My family had more of me. And the business finally started to feel like it was working for us instead of us working for it.
So if you’ve been measuring success by how quickly you’re growing, let me remind you: speed doesn’t equal success. Sustainability does. And building for sustainability is exactly what I help women do through The Legacy Framework, because a business that lasts is always more valuable than a business that burns out.
