Scaling Through Seasons of Motherhood
Motherhood comes in seasons, and my house is a mix of them all. My oldest is a senior preparing for his next chapter, while my youngest is just two and only goes to a Mother’s Day Out program twice a week. In between, I have three boys at home full-time, and two more who split their time with us because of joint custody. Add in supporting my husband as a retired military veteran living with a disability, and no two weeks look the same.
For a long time, I tried to grow my business as if my life never shifted. I forced routines that didn’t match our reality. I pushed harder, stretched myself thinner, and told myself it was just a season I needed to push through. But the truth is, seasons never stop changing. There’s always a new demand, a new schedule, a new curveball.
What I needed wasn’t more hustle. I needed systems that could flex with me. Automations that kept client work moving when I couldn’t be at my desk. Processes that made it easy for my team to step up without waiting for me to direct every detail. Dashboards that gave me clarity no matter how busy life at home became.
Scaling through motherhood isn’t about balancing perfectly. It’s about building flexibility into your business so it grows alongside you. When you design your systems to adapt, you stop fighting against the seasons of life. Instead, you start thriving within them.
